BEI designed renovations and an addition, to include a media center, administrative offices, gymnasium and locker rooms for this middle school totaling a cost of $3.5 million.
A physical validation report confirming the budget estimates for the renovation and addition to this school was completed. The renovations included ADA and site improvements, serious masonry wall and parapet repair, lintel, window and greenhouse replacement, exterior door replacement, interior remodeling, new locker fronts, chalk and tackboards, water and condensate line replacement, new electrical transformers and distribution, and new technology systems. BEI provided a roofing replacement assessment program for this project.
This 57,000 square foot school was to be renovated for a cost of approximately $1.7 million. The addition cost was budgeted at $1.75 million.
Interior renovations remained unfinished, as that portion of the project was cancelled by the City of Detroit approximately a year after design drawings were completed. All the exterior work was completed to provide a fresh new look that was greatly complimented.
