Renovated the South Tower outpatient medical surgery area and the West Tower postpartum area into 15 Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) rooms, 6 private postpartum rooms and 3 semi-private postpartum rooms.
The design offers increased room space, larger and better-located nurses stations, medication rooms and nourishment centers, doctors' lounges closer to new mothers, new support and storage closer to new mothers, new support and storage spaces and more space in the special care nursery.  Existing delivery rooms were reconstructed, increasing the size of each room.
BEI's design services entailed selecting all materials, colors and accessories.  The rooms were designed to have all the comforts of home, equipped with recliners, VCRs, whirlpool tubs, refrigerators and microwaves as well as carefully selected bedspreads, light fixtures and draperies to help to create the "home-like" atmosphere.  We also assisted in CON requirements and the operational narrative.
