BEI has developed excellent working relationships with general contractors and construction managers. The success of these projects ultimately rests on the shoulders of the individual design professionals, their design knowledge and their ability to work effectively with their contractor counterparts. Close coordination is needed between the design/build team and the regulatory agencies issuing the construction permits. During construction, the contractor is working under schedule constraints that require effective managing of equipment and manpower. The submittal, routing and approval of shop drawings, controlling of construction costs based on the proposed budgets, and maintaining quality levels promised by the design/build team culminate during the construction phase. Both the contractor and the architect/engineer must continue to work closely to maintain the project budgets, schedule and quality expected by the owner. |
